Element by Westin Hotel, Apartments Planned at I-170 and Delmar

A combined apartment and hotel project is planned at Delmar and 170 (or Delmar and Delcrest). The site is currently home to Delcrest Plaza.

According to the City of University City Planning Commission agenda document from October 23rd, the project will consist of 133 hotel rooms in an Element by Westin Hotel. The hotel portion will be 6-stories and will become the 2nd Element hotel in the region behind the one under construction in Midtown on Forest Park Avenue. The 160 unit apartment building will complete the block and will be spread out over 4 floors. A 2-story parking garage is also planned but will be hidden from Delmar.

The developer, ALP Acquisition Inc is seeking to rezone the property from General Commercial to Planned Development-Mixed Use. The hope is to start construction within 18-24 months if all proper approvals are issued by the City of University City.

No cost or definitive timeline were given in the document. Gray Architects is the architect on the project.

Some updated information should be made available soon as this project moves on.
