CHROMA Phase 2 Unveiled

Updated: Apr 17, 2019

CHROMA Phase 2 has been unveiled in documents submitted to Park Central Development.

The second phase of the massive CHROMA development, at Sarah and Chouteau in the Grove, will include a 54 unit (17 studio, 37 one bedroom), 4 story apartment building at the corner of Sarah and Papin. The building will also include a small street-level retail space to further activate Sarah Street between the Grove and Cortex. One other notable design detail is the addition of a large “CHROMA 2” sign at Sarah and Papin to let people know what the building is.

The architecture firm is different this time around. Last time, Koman and Green Street chose Humphreys and Partners as the architect. This time, they have chosen VE Design Group as the architect. This firm has done projects like the Piazza on West Pine, Tribeca in Debaliviere Place and the Barton in Clayton. At least this plan seems to add color to the building via terraces at Sarah and Papin. Elsewhere, the building takes on a similar color palette to the remainder of CHROMA.

The total cost of Phase 2 is nearly $11 Million. Construction is set to begin in May 2019 and wrap up in June 2020. Koman and Green Street applied for a zoning permit on March 20th 2019. The remainder of the lot will be an office building of 30,000SF. That design will come at a later date. All tax abatements awarded to CHROMA Phase 1 will carry over to Phase 2.
