Central West End's Albion West End tower at Kingshighway and Lindell has gotten to the bidding process.
The project has appeared on the SLDC Planroom website for subcontractors to bid on different aspects of the project. Clayco is the general contractor. The Lamar Johnson Collaborative is the architect. Koplar Properties and Albion Residential are the developers.
The tower recently won approval, for the second time, from the Preservation Board. The return to the Preservation Board was due to the project being redesigned from the initial design from 2022. The new design did away with the curved front and introduced a new glass color. Since the beginning of this year, the tower's design changed slightly with the removal of the "terrace" on the 23rd floor.
Albion West End is a 30-story tower with 305 apartments, 1619sf of retail space, and 310 parking spaces. Per the plans, the building will stand 320ft to the top of the penthouse.
New renderings showcase the building from multiple angles, including the view at the start of this story. One rendering shows the ground-level entrance from the parking garage. Others are basic interior design sketches of the lobby. While not rendered, the plans reference a "Citrus Cafe" on the building's 6th floor (likely an amenity for residents at the pool deck).
The development team intends to begin construction later this year.
