Ballpark Village Picks Up Bank as Retail Tenant

As Phase 2 of Ballpark Village continues to roll forward with a busy first half of the year in regards to openings, another retail tenant has appeared based on building permit applications for the office and hotel block. Scott Credit Union, a local Bank/Credit Union, will open a branch at Ballpark Village. As to where at, the retail space occupied by S.C.U. is most likely going to be the Northeastern retail space. This space is situated to the South of the PwC Pennant Building lobby along the pedestrian walkway.

The building permits don’t really give any hints as to which space the bank will move into, so take my assumption as a grain of salt, but progress has been steady. Over $1 Million in building permits have been applied for Scott Credit Union as of this story’s writing. The most recent building permit applied for is for 3 wall signs that are all illuminated. A January 22nd press release from the Cardinals mentions that this will be a showcase branch with a digital display wall, interactive teller machines, and conversation spaces.

When it opens around Opening Day, Scott Credit Union will join a mixture of new retail and restaurant tenants in the second phase of Ballpark Village. So far, these tenants have been announced to call BPV home...

1. Salt + Smoke

2. Baseballism

3. Davio’s Steakhouse

4. Sports + Social St. Louis

5. OneLife Fitness (Now Open)

6. Scott Credit Union

5 retail spaces, in Phase 2, remain available at this point. Those include 3 in the PwC Pennant Building and 2 in One Cardinal Way. 1 retail space remains available in Phase 1 and that is at the Northwest corner.

The future Sports+Social.

Other Things Happening at Ballpark Village

Live! by Loews is set to open on February 26th. Based on observations by walking around the hotel, finishing touches are going on with the rooftop signage and final facade work expected to wrap up in the next two weeks. Interior work is practically completed with finishing touches being made there. The 216 room hotel is the first by the Loews brand in St. Louis.

The walkway between OneLife Fitness and the PwC Pennant Building is now open. Trees have been planted and the brick pavers have been laid. There are also plaques in the ground with the names of Cardinals Players in the Hall of Fame. This is considered the walk of fame. This leads to the Field of Dreams Plaza, which sits on the site of the former Busch Stadium 2 field. A large Cardinals logo is in this area as well. Once Sports+Social and the two retail spaces are occupied in this area, I expect it to be a little better to walk through. Regardless, it’s a nice area.

OneLife Fitness opened January 26th and is the second portion of Phase 2 to open. A portion of the sidewalk in front of OneLife has opened as well, and's quite wide. The other portion will remained closed for a few more weeks. The PwC Pennant Building opened in December, OneLife in January, Loews in February, and One Cardinal Way will open last in the Summer.
