Steelcote Lofts (5 Steelcote Square)

Currently Under Construction are 33 Loft Apartments in a 5 floor building in Prospect Yards. The project should be completed by May 2019. According to the architect, colors in each unit correspond to some of Steelcote's paint colors.

Prospect Yards posted these interior shots on Twitter on January 2nd. Still tons of work to be done but PPG says that a May opening is on track. Windows still have to be installed along with other things for the apartments.

The Lofts have opened! 2 of the 33 units are occupied right now. They are all light and airy. I'll post photos later.

  • A $5 million rehab is taking place in a vacant building in Grand Center. The building, which is located at 3830 Washington Blvd, will bring 32,000 square feet of working space and 50 new jobs to Midtown. The facility will contain approximately 90 high tech knitting machines. Mayor Lyda Krewson stated at the media event that she hopes this facility will spark the resurgence of the fashion industry in St. Louis.
  • This new project will continue the push to change this industrial area into a vibrant residential neighborhood,. This project is expected to have 10,000SF of ground floor retail space, covered parking, 96 apartments and an amenity deck. The material, to be used on the façade, is corrugated metal which is meant to be an ode to the industrial vibe. In addition to this, some of the units will include balconies and floor to ceiling glass (but only in SELECTIVE units).
