This thread is for the planned development at Grand and Chouteau that was requested by SLU and the Midtown Development Corporation. The large grassy lot was home to a proposal for an MLS Stadium (by Foundry St. Louis) and is prime real estate overall. With the $550 Million SLU Hospital to the South, the Steelcote Square projects to the East, MetroLink and Armory to the North, this lot is prime redevelopment space.

  • A $5 million rehab is taking place in a vacant building in Grand Center. The building, which is located at 3830 Washington Blvd, will bring 32,000 square feet of working space and 50 new jobs to Midtown. The facility will contain approximately 90 high tech knitting machines. Mayor Lyda Krewson stated at the media event that she hopes this facility will spark the resurgence of the fashion industry in St. Louis.
  • This new project will continue the push to change this industrial area into a vibrant residential neighborhood,. This project is expected to have 10,000SF of ground floor retail space, covered parking, 96 apartments and an amenity deck. The material, to be used on the façade, is corrugated metal which is meant to be an ode to the industrial vibe. In addition to this, some of the units will include balconies and floor to ceiling glass (but only in SELECTIVE units).
