No rendering available but plans call for 84 hotel rooms and 72 apartments to be added as an extension of Hotel Saint Louis. A restaurant, rooftop bar, ballroom and spa expansion are also part of the plans.
Developer: Restoration St. Louis
Architect: Checkmate Design
Builder: BSI
Cost: $54 Million
Construction Begin: Fall 2019
Construction End: December 2020
Is this construction timeline still up to date (I'd love to believe it was)? Also, according to NextSTL and city assessor's website the units will not be micro, but "normal" with 207 units instead of 700 units.

My last contact with Morgan Communities had them telling me that the timeline I have is still in use, but they are running out of time. They also told me that these will still be "Micro" when compared to the other nearby apartments. So we'll see. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
@Chris Stritzel Thanks, me too!
Any update from Morgan on this?
Nothing new yet. The last I heard was that they were under federal investigation so I would say this is on the back burner
@Chris Stritzel FYI, I work across the street in the Laclede Gas Building and there are guys in business suits walking around on the roof as I type this. Maybe something developing?
Take a picture please. If you can.
@Steve Coates, I know who those people were. Stayed tuned for a potential announcement later this week. You'll be happy. 😊
Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to seeing something done with the Chemical Building. We've watched the wonderful transformation of the Union Trust Building and now it would be great to see that amount of attention placed on the Chemical Building.
Restoration St. Louis is going to but this and are planning...
- 86 hotel rooms as an addition to Hotel Saint Louis
- 72 Luxury Apartments
- Rooftop Bar
- Ground level restaurant
- Ballroom
- Walkway connecting the Chemical to 705 Olive
The total cost of the project will be $54 Million with constructed slated to begin this fall and completion in December 2020. $17 Million in tax credits will be utilized.
This is great news. It will be great to see this project come to being. It will also be fun to see the progress from our office suite in the Laclede Gas Building.
More folks scoping out the roof today. Things appear to be moving forward.
Thanks. Appears they are assessing the status of the roof
[@Steve Coates], you saw Amrit Gill up on the roof yesterday. The others were checking the stability of the roof
More rooftop activity this afternoon. Four guys holding long adjustable poles with orange flags on top. I'm guessing they were checking for some sort of visual assessment for height of something. Couldn't really tell.
