@Elek Borrelli said on the story for this project...
I think Downtown St. Louis will get there, just we have a vacancy issue (in terms of office space) and we have empty buildings. Clayton has one empty building, the 7 Up building, and in the current market, it won't last long in that state. If Downtown St. Louis sees a plan to redevelop AT&T, Butler Brothers and Millennium hotel, then expect large scale projects like this. Until then, we have to wait and see how the Downtown market does.
In response to the hope of this project being cancelled, that won't happen. Kummer is self funding so it's his money to lose. if this is what he wishes to spend it on, so be it. I don't think he would just up and leave his prime piece of real estate with plans already made for a site in the City. Clayton is a City on the rise but I wouldn't call the main core dying. There have been many projects completed in the past few years in the City's Central Corridor that defeat Clayton, just they are spread out and not as visible.
As stated earlier, we will get towers, just we have to deal with our current building stock before building up.
